The smallest instrument for smallest quantities
The ultra-compact FRITSCH Mini-Mill is ideal for fine comminution of smallest quantities of medium-hard, brittle and moist samples – wet, dry or cryogenic. Its special spherical grinding bowl ensures a much better performance in grinding, mixing and homogenizing compared with similar models. With a footprint of just 20 x 30 cm and a weight of 7 kg it easily fits anywhere; it’s smart, user-friendly, inexpensive and convinces with impressive results, small, fast, effective.
Impact and friction
The FRITSCH Mini-Mill PULVERISETTE 23 grinds the sample through impact and friction between grinding balls and the inside wall of the grinding bowl. For this, the grinding bowl performs vertically oscillating movements with 900 – 3,000 oscillations per minute at 9 mm amplitude.
In contrast to similar mills, a clearly better degree of efficiency is achieved due to the spherical-shaped inside of the grinding bowl, which is perfectly adapted to the communition principle.
Unmatched effectiveness with spherical grinding bowls
Available only from FRITSCH: In Special consideration of the ball mill grinding concept, we developed for the PULVERISETTE 23 a grinding bowl with interior walls that are spherical instead of cylindrical. Your advantage: Unmatched grinding performance with a significantly improved grinding effect, much easier recovery and simpler cleaning.
Especially practical: The spherical grinding bowls of the PULVERISETTE 23 are assembled simply and quickly, just twist and turn!
The 5 ml PTFE bowl is especially suited for using the FRITSCH PULVERISETTE 23 in biotechnology applications. For example, it is possible to break up fungus or yeast cells, deep frozen tissue and cells in only a few minutes with this special plastic bowl and a 10 mm steel ball. It is also possible to pre-cool the entire bowl in liquid nitrogen.
Grinding bowl and grinding balls
The Mini-Mill PULVERISETTE 23 operates with a grinding bowl and grinding balls. To avoid undesired contamination of the sample through abrasion, we offer a selection of 3 different materials. Normally, grinding bowls and grinding balls of the same material are used. Grinding bowls and grinding balls made of zirconium oxide for absolute metal-free grinding are also offered.
FRITSCH Planetary Ball Mills – high-performance all-rounder in routine laboratory work
The Planetary Mill PULVERISETTE 5 premium line with 2 grinding stations is the ideal mill for fast wet and dry grinding of hard, medium-hard, soft, brittle and moist samples as well as for mechanical alloying, mixing and homogenising of larger sample quantities with reliable results down into the nano range – and an absolutely secure automatic clamping of the grinding bowls.
Comminution according to the Planetary Principle
The comminution takes place primarily through the high-energy impact of grinding balls and partially through friction between grinding balls and the grinding bowl wall. To achieve this, the grinding bowl, containing the material to be ground and grinding balls, rotates around its own axis on a main disk rotating in the opposite direction. At a certain speed, the centrifugal force causes the ground sample material and grinding balls to bounce off the inner wall of the grinding bowl, cross the bowl diagonally at an extremely high speed and impact the material to be ground on the opposite wall of the bowl. The grinding bowls reach twice the speed of the main disk during this process.
Due to the extra strong 2.2 kW drive power and centrifugal acceleration up to 64 g and up to 800 rpm (rotational speed of the bowl 1,600 rpm) are high-performance grindings down into the nano range possible.
Grinding has never been safer: With the completely brand new ServoLOCK clamping of the grinding bowls and the automatic check of the fastening of the bowls inside the mill, man and machine are optimally protected. In the event of impermissible operating states, the machine blocks the start of a grinding – and if an imbalance occurs it automatically shuts off.
The revolutionary ServoLOCK is activated with a single hand motion by pressing down the clamp. The actual clamping is motor-driven by the mill. Your advantage: each grinding with always same conditions without screwing or other manual fastening.
Automatic control and monitoring – Measurement of gas pressure and temperature
The Software MillControl enables the automatic control and monitoring of the Planetary Mill PULVERISETTE 5 premium line. The actual rotational speed and power consumption are checked and documented. By using two EASY GTM-bowls with special lid and transmitter you transform your PULVERISETTE 5 premium line into an analytical measuring system for monitoring pressure and temperature during the grinding process.
Configure your Planetary Mill PULVERISETTE 5 premium line exactly to your specific application
The grinding bowls of the Planetary Mill PULVERISETTE 5 premium line are available in the sizes 125 ml, 150 ml, 250 ml, 420 ml and 500 ml. This gives you total flexibility for optimal adjustment to your specific sample volume. If you would like to grind four samples simultaneously, simply order four grinding bowls, each with 125 ml or 150 ml volume and 2 stacking rings.
To achieve the best grinding results and for direct prevention of contamination of the samples due to undesired abrasion, all grinding bowls and balls are available in different materials. For grinding in inert gas and for mechanical activation and alloying premium line gassing lids are recommended – quickly and safely.
Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on an user’s view of the real world, thus providing a composite view. In soccer broadcasts, for example, you’ll find augmented reality when superimposing distances of free kicks using a circle or a line. We took advantage of this effect and programmed an app for you. Simply download the free-of-charge app in the app store of your mobile device and place our instruments as the PULVERISETTE 5 premium line live in your laboratory.
